RECBT

Rational-Emotive & Cognitive Behavioral Therapy was founded by psychologist Dr. Albert Ellis, in 1955 in New York, USA The RECBT therapist will show you a useful way for managing your emotions and your behaviors. More specifically, the RECBT therapist will help you to locate and challenge your irrational (non-helpful) beliefs. Identifying and challenging non-helpful core beliefs will help you to feel and act better without being totally influenced from events around you.Specifically, your RECBT therapist will teach you to think differently and in a healthy way, propose to you effective behavior exercises, which you will be able to apply at home and elsewhere, show you exercises for managing your emotions during the most difficult situations.Success in therapy is very depended on the therapist’s skill, but also on your own active role in therapeutic process.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us.

When we’re mindful, we reduce stress, enhance performance, gain insight and awareness through observing our own mind, and increase our attention to others’ well-being.

Stress Management

Stress is your body’s response to changes in your life. Because life involves constant change—ranging from everyday, routine changes like commuting from home to work to adapting to major life changes like marriage, divorce, or death of a loved one—there is no avoiding stress. Your goal shouldn't be to eliminate all stress but to eliminate unnecessary stress and effectively manage the rest. There are some common causes of stress that many people experience, but each person is different.

Anger Management

Anger is a normal, healthy emotion, neither good nor bad. Like any emotion, it conveys a message, telling you that a situation is upsetting, unjust, or threatening. So, while it’s perfectly normal to feel angry when you’ve been mistreated or wronged, anger becomes a problem when you express it in a way that harms yourself or others. The goal of anger management is to reduce both your emotional feelings and the physiological arousal that anger causes. You can't get rid of, or avoid, the things or the people that enrage you, nor can you change them, but you can learn to control your reactions.

Procrastination

Procrastination is an active process – you choose to do something else instead of the task that you know you should be doing. Procrastination usually involves ignoring an unpleasant, but likely more important task, in favor of one that is more enjoyable or easier.

But giving in to this impulse can have serious consequences. It can lead to reduced productivity and cause us to miss out on achieving our goals.

If we procrastinate over a long period of time, we can become demotivated and disillusioned with our work, which can lead to depression.

Assertiveness

Assertiveness is a skill regularly referred to in social and communication skills training. Being assertive means being able to stand up for your own or other people’s rights in a calm and positive way, without being either aggressive, or passively accepting ‘wrong’. Assertiveness means standing up for your personal rights - expressing thoughts, feelings and beliefs in direct, honest and appropriate ways. By being assertive we should always respect the thoughts, feelings and beliefs of other people.

Communication skills

Being able to communicate effectively is perhaps the most important of all life skills. It is what enables us to pass information to other people, and to understand what is said to us.The ability to communicate information accurately, clearly and as intended, is a vital life skill and something that should not be overlooked. It’s never too late to work on your communication skills and by doing so, you may well find that you improve your quality of life.

Emotional first aid

Emotional First Aid is the idea that we take care of emotional injuries when they occur, so they do not become more damaging in the long run. Pychological wounds like failure and rejection distort our perception and mislead us. Once our mind convinces itself, we fail to change it. We all start thinking of all our faults and all our shortcomings. It hurts our self-esteem and we fall in the trap of stress and anxiety. So one needs to pay attention to emotional hygiene. Revive your self-esteem and build your emotional resilience. It will result in less depression and less loneliness. Just the way we stay conscious of our physical health, we must remain aware of our emotional health as well.

Parenting

Being a parent is not easy. But, for many, the decision to work with a counselor or therapist is the best parenting decision they have ever made.

At the simplest level, parenting counseling, also referred to as parenting therapy, is just “help with your child.” This form of therapy is not only short-term, it can also include all loved ones, you and your spouse, you and your child, or just you. Each treatment plan is specific to the situation. It doesn’t matter if the conflict lies between you and your child, or if it has to do with family trauma or child-related developmental, physical, or mental health problems; counseling sessions can provide you with the support and resources you need to be the best parent possible.
